Rightly So, beaten one-half length by Hour Glass in the Grade 2 Vagrancy Handicap last out, tries again for her first graded stakes score when she meets seven fillies and mares entered in Monday's Grade 3, $150,000 Bed o' Roses Handicap.
Rightly So, a New York-bred daughter of Read the Footnotes, was 5 for 8 against New York-breds before running a game race in the Vagrancy, in which she dueled through hot fractions before giving way grudgingly to Hour Glass. "I thought it was a great effort,'' trainer Tony Dutrow said. Rightly So drew post 6 and will be ridden by Ramon Dominguez. Qualia, who has won 4 of 5 starts, and Devil By Design, a winner of three of her last four, are both making their graded stakes debut in the Bed o' Roses. Amazing, Lady Alexander, McVictory, My Dinah, and Nicksappealinglady are also entered. Cat Moves, Liam's Dream on shelf Cat Moves, last year's Prioress winner, and Liam's Dream, who had been pointing to this year's Prioress, are both sidelined due to injury. Both fillies are trained by Tony Dutrow. Cat Moves is on owner Edward Evans's farm in Virginia recovering from a re-occurrence of a problem with her left knee, according to Chris Baker, Evans's farm manager. Cat Moves came out of a third-place finish in the My Juliet Stakes on May 29 at Philadelphia Park with the problem. According to Baker, the injury first occurred after Cat Moves finished fifth in the Fitz Dixon Cotillion at Philadelphia Park last fall. Meanwhile, Liam's Dream, who has won 4 of 5 career starts, including the Grade 3 Cicada at Aqueduct, had surgery to repair a chip fracture at the New Bolton Center earlier this week after injuring herself in a workout preparing for the Prioress. Dutrow said he is hopeful Liam's Dream could return to training over the winter.
