Teaks North got a great inside stalking trip from Eddie Castro before moving out to collar Stacelita, then held off a late run from Chinchon to post a half-length victory Saturday in the 58th running of the Grade 1, $750,000 United Nations at Monmouth Park in Oceanport, N.J.

Teaks North, owned by Julia Boutelle and trained by Justin Sallusto, returned $16 to win after finishing the 1 3/8-mile distance in 2:13 1/5 over a firm turf course. It was the seventh win in 17 career starts for Teaks North, a 4-year-old gelding by Northern Afleet. He won the Grade 3 Monmouth Stakes in his previous start.

The $2 exacta (3-9) paid $75.60 and the $1 trifecta (3-9-7) returned $125.10.

Chinchon finished about a length before Stacelita. Both were sent off at 2-1 in a field of 10 older horses.
