American Pharoah galloped ahead of the pack to win the first Triple Crown in 37 years. (the first since Affirmed did it in 1978). Now that this amazing feat is fresh in the minds of people around the world, comparisons are being made as to which thoroughbred is the best All-Time, American Pharoah or Secretariat?
There are many factors at Belmont Stakes which determine how a horse will run on a given day. weather, track conditions, practices, and prior race schedule play a huge role in how a horse will perform. With that being said, lets take a side by side look inside the numbers at American Pharoah and Secretariat.

Looking at these side by side numbers at Belmont, Secretariat would have led at every single major juncture of this fantasy race between the two thoroughbreds. However, here is another interesting stat, in the last 1,320 Feet, it took Secretariat 25 seconds to the finish line. American Pharoah was FASTER finishing the last two furlongs in 24.32 seconds! If only there were a parallel universe where we could race these fine horses against one another to answer this question. Who would you put your money on?
