Keeneland says a 2.5% fractional interest in Breeders' Cup Classic champion Flightline has sold for $4.6 million during a special auction.
Flightline has been retired and will stand at stud after completing a dominant, unbeaten career capped by Saturday's runaway victory in the Breeders' Cup Classic at Keeneland.
Unbeaten Flightline pulled away to an 8¼-length victory in the $6 million Breeders' Cup Classic on Saturday.
Forte rallied from mid-pack to overtake Cave Rock and win the Breeders' Cup Juvenile by 1 1/2 lengths on Friday at Keeneland.
Flightline is the 3-5 morning-line favorite for the Breeders' Cup Classic and will start the $6 million season finale from the No. 4 post position on Saturday at Keeneland.
