Alpha is a Distorted Humor and Tabarin colt. He broke his maiden in just his second race but finished third in the Sunland Derby (G3) behind Govenor Charlie and Show Some Magic.

To be honest, it's too early to speculate on Abraham. Pletcher has a few other Derby contenders that he is putting his time into and without a big win from Abraham in another prep race, it's not hard to see why. We'll revisit this horse prior to the Derby if he gives us a reason.
