Verrazano is a More Than Ready and Enchanted Rock colt. He's won all four of his career starts, including the Tampa Bay Derby (G2) and he Wood Memorial (G1), and will most likely go off as the favorite in the Kentucky Derby. Plus, he's named after the named after the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, and being from Staten Island, well, that's just cool.

Verrzano is already in Kentucky at Churchill Downs prepping for the first Saturday in May. Trainer Todd Pletcher is very pleased with his warmups and things are looking good.

"We've gotten to this point with him as well as we could have hoped," Pletcher said. "He's maintained his condition really well and looks phenomenal. His appetite is good and he's moving well. We're really pleased and we're hoping for another 19 days of what we're seeing right now."

There's no question Verrazano with the combination of Todd Pletcher and John Velzquez will be on our shortlist. He was dominant in both his graded stakes races and if he lands a good post position, well, he'll be in good shape to land Pletcher another Kentucky Derby victory.
