My Adonis is a Pleasantly Perfect and Silent Justice colt. It took My Adonis 4 tries before he was able to break his maiden, placing in his first three races. However, he's been able to put together a strong resume. He finished third in the Holy Bull G3 at Gulfstream Park and second in the Gotham G3 at aqueduct to current Kentucky Derby favorite, Hansen. He'll need a few more earnings if he's going to make an appearance on May 5th and his connections have indicated a start in the Wood Memorial.

"The horse worked great, and he came out of it great," said trainer Kelly Breen. "He'll tell us his story in the Wood. If he jumps up and runs a big race, I wouldn’t be surprised."

Three year olds experience growth spurts of muscle mass and bone density, so the difference a few weeks make, in some cases, could be night and day. My Adonis has already proven he can hang with the top dogs and a strong showing in the Wood will cement an appearance in the Derby. We feel he's currently an underrated horse with an overlooked trainer and he may be peaking at just the right time. We'll have to see his run in the Wood Memorial to better gauge his potential, but right now we're watching My Adonis very closely.
