Earnings: $151,000*
Next Race: Santa Anita Derby
* Current as of April 1, 2012

I'll Have Another is a Flower Alley and Arch's Gal Edith colt. Right now, we're having a hard time gauging this horse. After breaking his maiden in his first attempt, he went on to finish second in the Best Pal G2 at Del Mar a month later. However, in the Hopeful G1 at Saratoga Race Track he finished well out of the money. That race was sixth months ago. In February, in his three year old campaign debut, he won the Robert B. Lewis in convincing fashion.

His next start is schedule for this Saturday in the Santa Anita Derby and he'll need to run well in this race. Not just because he needs the earnings, but he'll have some fierce competition in what would be his last Kentucky Derby prep race. If he can run against the likes of Creative Cause (who he placed behind in the Best Pal last year), Brother Francis, Liaison, and Longview Drive he'll position himself nicely for a run on May 5th.

One thing to consider is, his only run on a track east of California didn't go well. That was almost a year ago and things change fast for 3-year olds. We won't have a chance to see him race in the midwest or east coast until, and if, he gets to Kentucky and that's one of the reasons we find him hard to gauge. Santa Anita is a great prep race but without a big win, I'll Have Another won't make our shortlist.
