Hall of Fame trainer H. Allen Jerkens died March 18 in Aventura, Fla. He had been hospitalized for several weeks with an infection.
Hall of Fame trainer Allen Jerkens remained in the intensive care unit March 3 at Aventura Hospital in South Florida, fighting a severe infection that set in last week. His condition is stable, according to his son, trainer Jimmy Jerkens.
With celebration and nostalgia, the 2014 Hall of Fame class that began tinged with controversy was inducted Aug. 8 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., in a ceremony that honored two equine champions, Ashado and Curlin.
