Saturday, Pletcher is back at Tampa with Brethren, an undefeated half-brother to Super Saver who will be heavily favored against eight rivals to win the Grade 2, $350,000 Tampa Bay Derby, the centerpiece of a 12-race card at Tampa Bay Downs.
The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission voted there was probable cause to believe both jockey John Velazquez and chief state steward John Veitch were in violation of regulations regarding Life At Ten's participation in the 2010 Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic.
Two Grade 1 winners are in the lineup for the $250,000 San Felipe Stakes (Grade 2) March 12 at Santa Anita, but a ridgling son of Flatter making his first start against winners figures to draw plenty of attention as well.
Another victory in Saturday's $300,000 Santa Margarita Invitational over 1 1/8 miles at Santa Anita would clinch a position at the top for Switch.
