Ron Turcotte, the Hall of Fame jockey who won the Triple Crown aboard Secretariat, was in a hospital Tuesday after the van he was driving hit a snowbank and flipped near his home in New Brunswick.
Willis Horton's champion 2-year-old filly Take Charge Brandi will miss the March 14 Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn Park with a non-displaced bone chip in her right knee, an injury which will prevent her from making a start in the Longines Kentucky Oaks.
Texas Red, winner of the 2014 Sentient Jet Breeders' Cup Juvenile, is back at Santa Anita Park with trainer Keith Desormeaux, arriving March 9.
