Rachel Alexandra sped things up a bit with her third straight Monday morning workout at Churchill Downs, going five furlongs in 1:00.40.

Zenyatta worked six furlongs in 1:13.00 at Hollywood Park on Monday, moving closer to a scheduled start in the Grade 1 Vanity Handicap there on June 13.

New York Gov. David Paterson has proposed legislation that would allow the New York Racing Association to borrow $25 million from a line of credit that is being offered to fund construction of a casino at the association's Aqueduct racetrack.
