The weekend's Breeders' Cup results caused million-dollar ripples Sunday in Lexington, where Juvenile Fillies winner Awesome Feather and F&M Sprint winner Dubai Majesty were among nine horses to sell for $1 million or more at Fasig-Tipton's November sale.
Wagering on the Breeders' Cup held at Churchill Downs on Friday and Saturday jumped 15.5 percent compared with the betting totals for last year and established a record for the event, according to figures provided by the organization on Monday.
Goldikova, the only horse to win three Breeders' Cup races, will return to race in 2011, trainer Freddie Head confirmed Monday, saying that if all goes well her season will end with a fourth start in the Breeders' Cup Mile.
