Javier Castellano's appeal of his six-day suspension for careless riding in last Friday's Breeders' Cup Marathon was denied by the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission, but the jockey received a stay that will enable him to ride in Japan.
Eugene Melnyk has transferred a string of five horses at Churchill Downs from Ken McPeek to Todd Pletcher, most notably Bridgetown, the fourth-place finisher in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint last weekend.
Travers winner Afleet Express has been retired and will head to stud at Gainesway Farm, where his sire, Afleet Alex, also stands.
