Phipps Stable and Hall of Fame trainer Shug McGaughey have cornered the market on the Grade 1, $400,000 Man o' War Stakes of late, with Point of Entry (2012), Boisterous (2013) and now Imagining prevailing in Sunday's renewal at Belmont Park.
After looking beat nearing the turn in Sunday's Grade 2, $250,000 Ruffian Stakes at Belmont Park, Fiftyshadesofhay rallied down the center of the track to take the one-mile contest by three parts of a length over Grace Hall and My Wandy's Girl.

Eight Thoroughbreds died in an early morning May 9 fire at a barn and adjoining annex located on Rice Road in Lexington across from the rear entrance to the Keeneland stable area. As of 8 a.m., fire investigators were on the scene to determine the cause.
