Bold Conquest is a Curlin and One For Jim colt trained by Steve Asmussen. He placed in his last race, the G2 Rebel Stakes, and is currently set to run in the Arkansas Derby. Like all Derby prep races, this will be an important one for Bold Conquest.

Mr. Z is a Malibu Moon and Stormy Beer colt trained by D. Wayne Lukas. He had three consecutive third place finishes in the G1 Los Alamitos Futurity, the Smarty Jones, and the G3 Southwest Stakes. However, his 9th place finish in the G2 Louisiana Derby likely has him off the Derby trail at this point. He does not have enough points to qualify and will need another prep race if he is to make an appearance.

Frosted is a Tapit and Fast Cookie colt trained by Kiaran McLaughlin. He placed in both the G2 Remsen and G2 Holy Bull and followed those races with a 4th place finish in the G2 Fountain of Youth. However, it was his dominant win in the Wood Memorial that makes this horse a serious Derby contender.

The Truth or Else is a Yes It's True and Lakenhealth colt trained by Ken McPeek. He's got a lot of mileage already for a young horse, making 4 attempts at breaking his maiden. He followed that up with third place finishes in the G1 Champagne and G2 Nashua. Despite only finishing first once, jockey Calvin Borel likes this horse.

Ocho Ocho Ocho is a Street Sense and Winner colt who won the Juvenile Turf Sprint. He followed that up with a win in the G3 Delta Downs Jackpot to close out 2014. Unfortunately, in his first race of 2015, he finished 8th in the G2 San Felipe Stakes at Santa Anita. Tomorrow's Blue Grass Stakes will be the real test for Ocho Ocho Ocho.

Pain and Misery is a Henry Dominguez trained Gelding. After second and seventh place finishes in the Baffle Stakes and G2 San Felipe Stakes respectively, he recently finished third in the G3 Sunland Derby. He lost to a dominant Firing Line, a certain contender for the Derby, and is likely off the trail at this time.
